The Via Regia de La Cava is a route conceived and designed according to the criteria of universal accessibility: a trail created with the aim of making the area's historical, cultural, religious and landscape heritage accessible to all people, regardless of their physical, sensory, cognitive or social condition.
The project takes shape in the Jubilee year as an opportunity to reflect on the value of hospitality and the right of every person to beauty, knowledge and participation. The Archdiocese of Amalfi-Cava de’ Tirreni, the Benedictine Abbey of the Holy Trinity, the Archeoclub La Cava Association, third-sector bodies and business associations have shared a common path to imagine a more open, inclusive and mindful walking experience.
The route winds along the historic Strada Regia delle Calabries, of Bourbon origin, which follows the ancient Capua-Regium and crosses the charming porticoed centre of Cava de’ Tirreni, rich in historical buildings, places of worship and testimonies of identity.
From this main itinerary branch off other routes leading to sites of great cultural, scenic and religious value located within the municipal area. Places to be discovered with a fresh perspective, together with pilgrims, tourists, local communities and anyone wishing to experience the journey as an experience of encounter, knowledge and sharing.
“Giubileo for all” is not simply an itinerary: it is an invitation to build a different way of experiencing places, one that is more attentive to people, relationships and the possibility of making beauty truly accessible.
